ACES/Everwatch is seeking a system administrator to perform remote sustainment across multiple locations for program systems. This position is open to candidates willing to work with a well-established and evolving team. Duties include but are not limited to providing system administration and sustainment support to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) mission systems and associated infrastructure. New members of the ACES/Everwatch system sustainment team will initially work closely with more experienced system administrators, but will eventually be expected to work with limited supervision. Candidates should be self-motivated, organized, possess excellent written and verbal skills and have the ability to work independently. Candidates will be expected to support and respond to project needs with accuracy and efficiency. Primary Responsibilities Actively monitor and troubleshoot system issues and participate in response, resolution, and reporting Provide support to day-to-day operations for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of program information Technology (IT) systems, infrastructure and related processes Provide support to IT system end users to ensure accessibility and availability for continuous operations Configure and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems; install/load operating system software; troubleshoot and maintain system integrity along with implementing operating system enhancements and vulnerability patches to improve reliability and performance Utilize system and infrastructure monitoring and alerting services to identify issues, enable troubleshooting, and ensure successful solutions Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis and resolution Coordinate with customers, create and respond to trouble tickets, and document issues and solutions in issue tracking system Install, integrate, test, and validate operating system and application updates and patches including operating system vulnerability patches
